04/02/09 Decoded (FotS Church, Jackson, MS)

From coded notes taken from FotS Church in Jackson, MS.

The notes appear to have been placed out of order.  I have attempted to place them in order to the best of my ability.

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

And thus you have been marked: Moses took of the blood thereof, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.

No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood. . . .Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh; for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof; whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

You shall devour all the peoples that the LORD your God is giving over to you, showing them no pity

This is a time of Vigilence.  There is no time for weakness.

And the officers shall speak further to the people, and say, ‘Is there any man who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go back to his house, lest he make the heart of his fellows melt like his own.  And when the officers have finished speaking to the people, then commanders shall be appointed at the head of the people.

There are still a few more passages to decode.  More later.

04/02/09 Notes (FotS Church, Jackson, MS)

19:56: Arrive on-site.  Human occupants still in church.  Await vacancy before entering.

21:40: Human occupants vacate church.  Standard issue FotS Church.  Nothing out of ordinary.  Careful investigation of vestibule and assembly areas yield nothing.

22:03: Enter Church office.  Discover arsenal of guns in two cabinets, drawer filled with silver bullets, shelving lined with silver bullets.  Significant supply leads me to believe org has capability to take a whole building hostage.

22:25: Striking gun.  Fired recently.

22:33: Review of papers on desk yields several pages written in coded scrawl.  Papers currently in possession *DECODE

22:34: Leave Church.

22:41: Return to Church to retrieve one box of silver netting.  *TRACE NUMBER TO FIND WHEN ORDER PLACED AND BY WHOM

Music does have a profound effect on me.  It is often what helps me prepare for my daytime rest.

I have a small collection, some of which I like to play, others of which I simply like to listen to.

This aria from Puccini's La Bohème speaks volumes.

Sheriff:

As discussed, I did return to the Hotel Monteleone to retrieve the
contract. I have attached it here for your review.

You will note that the language of the contract is one of legal
binding. Strange choice, as it suggests a paper bound relationship
not unlike a marriage.

I expect to make my return to New Orleans Monday night at sundown
unless I hear otherwise.

Sincerely,

What I am Reading: Stiff, by Mary Roach

Picture_1

The prospect of life after death is truly fascinating to me.  And I have found it curious and self-centered that most of my kind have not considered that the human body could experience life (to some degree) after the spark had faded.

Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers
offers proof after the spark.  From crash test dummies to ballistics, Stiff offers an enlightening and in some ways, uplifting, perspective on the insight cadavers can give to the living.
